Make sure you read the terms and conditions before applying with us

1. SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION
Applications can be submitted by an intermediary or by parents if their child has a valid city pass.
Examples of intermediaries are: elementary or high school teachers, parent and kid advisors, youth care providers, social workers, general practitioners, Foodbank employees, Stichting Leergeld Amsterdam, Stichting Samen is niet alleen. The directive is to have the intermediary be involved in the education, guidance, and raising of the child and stays involved while our services are being requested. We expect the intermediary to understand the terms and conditions and discusses these with the parents. The cultural institution cannot submit applications themselves to prevent possible conflicts of interests.

2. THE AMOUNT TO BE COMPENSATED
The maximum amount that is reimbursable is €450,- per schoolyear per child. We reimburse the amount from the first day of the month in which the application is submitted. Applications that were submitted prior to November 1st are compensated retroactively. For applications submitted after November 1st, we apply a €45,- deduction per month. A new application needs to be submitted every school year.
Be careful! The application for a compensation does not mean an application was submitted with the class provider. The application with the provider for your child needs to be done by you, the parent, possibly with the intermediary

3. AGE AND EXCLUSIONS
We provide compensations for children aged 2 to 18. We only compensate full-length creative courses, so no workshops or short courses
For sport and/or swimming lessons, we refer you to Jeugdfonds Sport Amsterdam
-

4. RESIDENCE
The child lives in the Municipality of Amsterdam. For children outside of Amsterdam, we refer you to the Jeugdcultuurfonds Nederland
-
5
5. JOINT INCOME
The joing income of the parents/guardians does not exceed 120% of the minimum wage. For the exact amounts and more information, we refer you to Pak je Kans.
When the child/parent have a city pass with a green dot, the City Pass Number will count as a valid ID when submitting an application. The number that needs to be put on the application form is the 19-digit number on the back of the City Pass, always starting with 60643660.
An exception to the income limit can be made, if the application for one well-supported. Applications can be submitted for the undocumented and families that have debt assistance or have an income lower than 120% of the minimum wage (e.g. self-employed).
-
6
6. CHECK THE INCOME
If the parent has a valid city pass, the Municipality has already checked if the income legally at or below minimum and this does not have to be repeated by the intermediary. Submitting the city pass number of the child with the application shall then be enough. In the absence of a city pass, the intermediary needs to check the income based on a recent wage slip or benefits statement.
-
7
7. ONE APPLICATION PER SCHOOLYEAR
Every schoolyear only one application can be submitted for one cultural activity, even if the €450,- is not fully ‘used up’ with that one activity. Submissions for multiple kids in one family can be made. Financial aid for a child can be requested from both the JCFA (for a cultural activity) and from Jeugdfonds Sport Amsterdam (for sports).

8
8. SUBSEQUENT APPLICATION
For any subsequent application for the same child, we assume the intermediary has checked with the cultural institution if the child participated regularly in the previous year. We also like to hear what their experience was like. We also assume that, with any subsequent application, it has been checked if the income situation of the parents/guardians has stayed the same.

9. SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION ONLINE
An application can only be submitted online and needs to be completely filled in and substantiated. In case the application does not meet this standard, it will not be processed. We strive to process each application within two weeks. In the beginning of the schoolyear, this may take longer because of the high demand.
-
10
10. INVOICE
If an application is accepted, an invoice needs to be sent to us within four weeks. Failure to do so will result in an automatic cancellation of the application. After receiving the invoice, we will pay the necessary amount to the cultural institution. We will never pay the parents. We need the original invoice. That means no pro forma invoice or payment reminder.

11. WHAT WE DON’T REIMBURSE
We don’t reimburse: registration fees, deposits, ballet attributes, concert visits, or any small projects. Not because we don’t think they are important, but because or budget is too tight to do so. The student compensation could possibly be used for this or one could get in touch with Stichting samen is niet Alleen or Stichting Leergeld Amsterdam. We don’t reimburse scouting or language classes.
